Community Outreach

We had the incredible opportunity to present at the Liberty Science Center, where we engaged with hundreds of young aspiring scientists and engineers. Our team set up interactive booths, distributed origami paper rocket designs, and handed out model rocket building materials. We spoke with center officials about our journey and connected with students from across the region, igniting their curiosity about aerospace and STEM careers.

We visited Metuchen High School for a hands-on outreach session with their FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC) team. Our team demonstrated our rockets, discussed the engineering principles behind high-power rocketry, and shared how students can get involved in competitions like Rockets4Schools, the American Rocketry Challenge, and NASA Student Launch Initiative. The students were eager to learn and asked incredible questions about propulsion, aerodynamics, and payload design.

We worked with the Edison Library to bring together a Christmas event involving rockets! One of our honorary team members dressed up as Santa and together we presented our journey, general space knowledge, and helped kids build rockets of their own.

We hosted a hands-on outreach event centered around the upcoming Artemis II mission, where we introduced students to the basics of human spaceflight and lunar exploration. Participants built model rockets and engaged with fun, educational coloring activities designed to spark interest in rocketry and STEM.

We partnered with Thomas Edison Energysmart Charter School to provide comprehensive mentorship for their American Rocketry Challenge team throughout the 2025-2026 season. Our hands-on approach included guiding students through the entire rocket design process, from initial CAD modeling to material selection and structural analysis. We worked alongside them during build sessions, teaching proper construction techniques, motor selection, and recovery system deployment. Together, we analyzed flight simulations, conducted stability tests, and prepared them for competition day with practice launches and troubleshooting sessions.

Received the fourth place award based on our presentation of a novel simulator, called Mach Infinity, that provided a 3D reference of our past launches using Unreal Engine.

Again, received the fourth place award based on our presentation of our Rockets4Schools payload, past rocket builds for R4S and ARC, as well as our overall presentation/booth design.

Presented our team's journey through the ARC and R4S to the First Robotics Challenge (FRC) team at Pascack Hills High School. We shared our experiences with rocket design, build processes, and competition strategies while inspiring students to explore the exciting world of competitive rocketry.

Continuing our outreach to the Pascack district, we visited Pascack Valley High School to present our rocketry achievements and share insights about competitions. We discussed our engineering challenges, successes at nationals, and encouraged students to pursue aerospace engineering through hands-on competition experiences.

We brought the excitement of rocketry directly to Arbor Intermediate School students with a hands-on launch experience! After presenting about our team and general space concepts including planets, planetary motion, and the speed of light, we launched model rockets alongside the students. The event featured interactive trivia questions, fun activities, and the unforgettable thrill of watching rockets soar into the sky together.

Met with the Rocketry Club at Ocean Township Middle School and taught them about general space and dove deeper into advanced rocketry concepts. Also gave them a review of our team, the NASA SLI program (that we are currently participating in), and how they could get involved in endeavors such as ARC and R4S.

In coordination with FRC Team 1676 Pascack Pioneers and their FLL competition, we introduced many young engineers to rocketry, discussing the aspects of numerous competitions, showing our designs and experiments, and making new friends. Over the course of the day, we met children and adults from many backgrounds, truly opening the doors for current and future rocketeers.
